The Essentials of TeenCamp.

Bring:
Yourself, your personality (don’t be shy) and a laptop (if you have one, we’re providing internet access)
What to expect:
It’s a time for meeting new friends, learning something new and having an awesome day. If you feel compelled or even slightly motivated on the day - you can give a talk. It can be about anything you want, there’s no need to whip up a presentation, just use your voice. It’s called giving a talk for a reason, you only need to interact with the people. We’re embarrassing ourselves up there too, you’re not the only one who’s going to be nervous.
Times:
It’s on from 1-7, but we’re not locking the doors and the bouncers won’t be throwing people out for coming late. (kidding, we’re too cheap for bouncers)
Most importantly:
Enjoy yourself! We didn’t organise this to be a boring conference, it’s an unconference, so get involved, make friends and have fun.

The big plug.

Guys,

its the last few days before the first TeenCamp starts! We’re both nervous and excited here at TeenCamp HQ - we can’t wait to meet everyone and see the talks. What we want to do right now is just plug the hell out of it in the next few days. So if you have a blog, a twitter account, a some-kind-of-thing-that-people-read we’d greatly appreciate it if you’d do a post on us, or tell a friend and tell them to tell a friend or something like that.

We want to make this a memorable first TeenCamp, hope to see ye all there!

Jan 17th. filmbase, Curved Street, Temple Bar, Dublin.
1-7p, entry is free.
Food at 3-ish PM. Also free.

Happy 2009 everyone - just a reminder that TeenCamp is taking place in 17 days in filmbase in Dublin.

Please register your attendance so we have an idea of how many pizza’s we need to buy for everyone and who’s giving talks - the floor will be open to anyone, but get your ideas down now!

TCI update

What we’ve been up to:

  • We’ve sorted our location, the basement of filmbase in Dublin will be the location of the first TeenCamp Ireland, a basement seems fitting! :)
  • We’re in talks with potential sponsors right now, more to come on that at a later date.
  • An overwhelming majority of ye voted for Dublin in the poll. Looking at the voting times, I probably should have added in some sort of validation because some of those votes were a bit shifty.
  • Deleted RSS blog updates on the Twitter account, t’was a bit silly.
  • We’ve uploaded our logo (in 1280*800 .PSD) if you wanna take a stab at making a better one!
We still have a long way to go though and we need the word of TeenCamp to go further than twitter! Tell your friends, register and link to the site! Bird nerd is the word!

Cork or Dublin?

Its a date!

January 17th!

Venue, coming soon. :)

Register to attend!

Dec 10, 2008 Author: enda | Filed under: Uncategorized

I made a small form for people interested in attending to fill out. This should give us an idea about our initial numbers and make finding a venue (we don’t want to book for 100 and have 30 show up, the wide spaces will make it feel even lonelier!) so head on over and register!

And we have a blog!

Which is step one according to Conor’s post-BarCamp Cork writeup.

If we can get a venue next - we’ll be in the business! We’re trying to avoid the college/university and Business Park’s if we can - they always add a certain tone to the event that we’re trying to avoid.

If anyone has any suggestions (preferably in Cork or Dublin), please chime in in the comments!
